“You have been displeased; Oh, restore us again! You have made the earth tremble; You have broken it; Heal its breaches, for it is shaking. You have shown Your people hard things; You have made us drink the wine of confusion. You have given a banner to those who fear You, That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah. That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and hear me.” Psalm 60:1b-5 NKJV
Today’s readings starts are week off with God defined as a righteous judge, humans defined by their godless folly and need for restoration. Next we read an urgent prayer for restored grace and thankfulness for God’s Righteous Judgment. It is the repeating story of the bible, of mankind, and of us today. There is an urgent need for restored grace in our world with urgent cries – God please save us!
Dear Heavenly Father – As always, please open eye to see and our ears to hear what you are saying! Lord – open our understanding that we may know you. Please do not let us miss out on what you want and need from us today. And please keep us and bless us and shine your face upon us and pour out grace over us and give us peace! Thank you! – In Jesus name we pray, Amen
Today’s reading is from Psalms 50, 53, 60 and 75 (embedded below the image below for your convenience).
Why God loves us when we foolishly sin, struggle with sin, fall back into sin… etc and so forth – I cannot understand. After the first great disappointment and the curse of sin on the earth, you’d think we humans would understand – but no, sin abounded and grew – to the days of Noah. Then started all over again.
Our sins make problems for us, as if we didn’t have enough hardship and problems in life. We build proverbial walls to control the chaos just to have days when we are helpless and the walls come crashing down around us. And we hurt so much by sin – it is an emotional pain that hurts so badly it can be felt physically. Sin, having created problems and deaths that not even He can turn around. Truth. The consequences of sin must be – God can give grace and love and healing to get through it – but it must be.
In sin I miscarried a baby, and God cannot bring her back. Time has passed; healing happens slowly. It is an example of what I mean. God doesn’t just magically fix everything. He is just. He is the same yesterday when I was in my sin and today when I am in my repentance. God doesn’t change.
There is an abundance of grace in that solid unmoving, unchanging, kind of dependability. There is life transforming grace in repenting and begging for restored favor.
As foolish as we are to struggle and fall into sin… as easy as it is to read these stories in the old testament and think, I wouldn’t keep making that mistake… as easy as it is to not be real and honest about our own imperfections… as easy as it is to not lay yourself naked at the foot of the cross and say – take me and all of this mess. Please, redeem me, restore me, and help me.
I pray for my enemy as we are told to pray for their blessings and while I pray my stomach turns. But we battle not against flesh and blood – so God please save the flesh and blood. But those who knowingly do evil and knowingly fight us because they rage against God…. Like the psalmists say:
In Psalms 50:21-22 – Rebuke our enemies, Lord, and set us in order in from of them for your name sake!!! Be glorified in setting it right!!
In Psalms 53:5 – Give great fear to our enemies, scatter their bones, and put them to shame because they desired to put us to shame, in order to prove there is no God. Rise up, Oh Lord, and be glorified!
In Psalms 60:11-12 – Help us God, because man cannot help us now! Help us do valiantly through you. But You and You alone shall tread down our enemies. And You shall be glorified.
In Psalms 75:10 – Horns are symbols throughout the Bible of leaders, strength and nations and kingdoms. In this modern world – Lord, we need you to cut off the horns of the wicked and exalt the righteous!
The journey with Christ isn’t easy and in some ways it is harder than the mess we make in sin. But it is more fulfilling, full of abundant life and eternal riches. God is good. So good. Even when it is tough and sin and chaos run ramped in our world around us. Jesus is the way. It is His job to reveal the truth and He is the light! Trust Him with all of you.
Do you already have a relationship with a powerful God who cares about your every need because He loves you? Did you know my God can communicate with you and protect you – He has a plan for you to prosper if you just submit to His will and let His plan play out in your life!!! God wants a relationship with you and has already made a plan for your life. He loves you so much He sent His son to this world, to die as a sacrifice for your sins and rise from death with victory over sin and the ability to have a personal relationship with you.
“9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 NIV
Here is a prayer for you to pray:
Jesus, I believe you are the way, the truth, the life, and the only way to the Father. I believe you are the son of God, you came to Earth and lived. That you died on the cross as a sacrifice for my sins, and rose again so that I may be saved from my sins and be able to get to know you. I declare: Jesus, you are Lord!
Therefore, I confess that I am a sinner and I ask that you forgive me of my sins and come into my life. Help me to turn away from my sins and transform me into what you have lovingly created me to be. Help me through a real personal relationship grow and accept your will for my life – that I may live in your blessings. Please walk with me, and talk with me – I accept a relationship with you and with our Father God, through you. In the name of Jesus I pray ~ Amen

Thank you for reading.
May the God of peace keep you and bless you. May you stay focused on Christ and covered in grace.

BIBLE READING: Psalms 50, 53, 60 and 75 NKJV
God the Righteous Judge
A Psalm of Asaph.
50 The Mighty One, God the Lord,
Has spoken and called the earth
From the rising of the sun to its going down.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,
God will shine forth.
3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent;
A fire shall devour before Him,
And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.
4 He shall call to the heavens from above,
And to the earth, that He may judge His people:
5 “Gather My saints together to Me,
Those who have [a]made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”
6 Let the heavens declare His righteousness,
For God Himself is Judge. Selah
7 “Hear, O My people, and I will speak,
O Israel, and I will testify against you;
I am God, your God!
8 I will not [b]rebuke you for your sacrifices
Or your burnt offerings,
Which are continually before Me.
9 I will not take a bull from your house,
Nor goats out of your folds.
10 For every beast of the forest is Mine,
And the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 I know all the birds of the mountains,
And the wild beasts of the field are Mine.
12 “If I were hungry, I would not tell you;
For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.
13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls,
Or drink the blood of goats?
14 Offer to God thanksgiving,
And pay your vows to the Most High.
15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”
16 But to the wicked God says:
“What right have you to declare My statutes,
Or take My covenant in your mouth,
17 Seeing you hate instruction
And cast My words behind you?
18 When you saw a thief, you consented[c] with him,
And have been a partaker with adulterers.
19 You give your mouth to evil,
And your tongue frames deceit.
20 You sit and speak against your brother;
You slander your own mother’s son.
21 These things you have done, and I kept silent;
You thought that I was altogether like you;
But I will rebuke you,
And set them in order before your eyes.
22 “Now consider this, you who forget God,
Lest I tear you in pieces,
And there be none to deliver:
23 Whoever offers praise glorifies Me;
And to him who orders his conduct aright
I will show the salvation of God.”
Folly of the Godless, and the Restoration of Israel
To the Chief Musician. Set to “Mahalath.” A [a]Contemplation of David.
53 The fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity;
There is none who does good.
2 God looks down from heaven upon the children of men,
To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
3 Every one of them has turned aside;
They have together become corrupt;
There is none who does good,
No, not one.
4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
Who eat up my people as they eat bread,
And do not call upon God?
5 There they are in great fear
Where no fear was,
For God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you;
You have put them to shame,
Because God has despised them.
6 Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!
When God brings back [b]the captivity of His people,
Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.
Urgent Prayer for the Restored Favor of God
To the Chief Musician. Set to [a]“Lily of the Testimony.” A Michtam of David. For teaching. When he fought against Mesopotamia and Syria of Zobah, and Joab returned and killed twelve thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.
60 O God, You have cast us off;
You have broken us down;
You have been displeased;
Oh, restore us again!
2 You have made the earth tremble;
You have broken it;
Heal its breaches, for it is shaking.
3 You have shown Your people hard things;
You have made us drink the wine of [b]confusion.
4 You have given a banner to those who fear You,
That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah
5 That Your beloved may be delivered,
Save with Your right hand, and hear me.
6 God has spoken in His holiness:
“I will rejoice;
I will divide Shechem
And measure out the Valley of Succoth.
7 Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine;
Ephraim also is the [c]helmet for My head;
Judah is My lawgiver.
8 Moab is My washpot;
Over Edom I will cast My shoe;
Philistia, shout in triumph because of Me.”
9 Who will bring me to the strong city?
Who will lead me to Edom?
10 Is it not You, O God, who cast us off?
And You, O God, who did not go out with our armies?
11 Give us help from trouble,
For the help of man is useless.
12 Through God we will do valiantly,
For it is He who shall tread down our enemies.
Thanksgiving for God’s Righteous Judgment
To the Chief Musician. Set to “Do[a] Not Destroy.” A Psalm of Asaph. A Song.
75 We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks!
For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near.
2 “When I choose the [b]proper time,
I will judge uprightly.
3 The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved;
I set up its pillars firmly. Selah
6 For exaltation comes neither from the east
Nor from the west nor from the south.
7 But God is the Judge:
He puts down one,
And exalts another.
8 For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup,
And the wine is red;
It is fully mixed, and He pours it out;
Surely its dregs shall all the wicked of the earth
Drain and drink down.
9 But I will declare forever,
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 “All the [e]horns of the wicked I will also cut off,
But the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.”
