Special Post – Today’s Thoughts

It has been a while since I wrote a sermon, but I keep feeling led to write one – or at least a longer post again. God told me to do short devotional to go with our daily reading and I have been diligent. But in my personal studies I still root around in various topics as God leads and occasionally they bleed into my daily Facebook/Instagram posts. (If you aren’t connected on Facebook or Instagram, there is different content there in addition). So I have been writing down various verses and thoughts and today I was going to thread them together – But can I do that as well as my pastor seemed to do this morning?!?! Probably not. So below is my outline. Thank you God for my pastor peaching some of these verses and some of my thoughts – what a great confirmation!

Big Things are Coming!

First – God uses the foolish things to confound the wise – which seems to summarize my life and the calling he has on me.
“But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;” 1 Corinthians 1:27 NKJV

Second – many are called few are chosen – Praying I am counted worth and chosen –
“For many are called, but few are chosen.” Matthew 22:14 NKJV

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” Isaiah 6:8

“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called,” Ephesians 4:1 ESV

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:14 ESV

And Finally – His promise:
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. Isaiah 55:8 NLT

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us”  Ephesians 3:20 KJV

“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9

Summary:
Psalm 18 – God the sovereign savior

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 KJV
