Weekend Reading (January 9)

Dear Heavenly Father, Please open my understanding as I read the Bible so that I may be able to know you better. Please help your word be planted in my mind, so I may recall it as needed. Bless me with wisdom and knowledge, please. In the name of Jesus we pray ~ amen

The 6th day of January is “Epiphany” – the twelfth day of Christmas. It is said that it is the day the wise men finally arrived in Bethlehem to present gifts to our savior. It is not a well observed religious holiday and it is by no means a holy day. It is nice to think about the wisdom of the wise men, and giving to God, through giving to Jesus. Some other year I may have done a study on giving of ourselves to God – but this year God told me to speak on swinging our sword. On quoting scripture. On spiritual warfare. And this year very unwise men (and women) presented chaos to the US capitol and through news media, the world.

“3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their’s also was. 10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” 2 Timothy 3:1-13 KJV

The media has used words like uprising, insurrection, terrorist invasion, assault, riot, chaos, siege, etc. to describe what happened on Wednesday. In comparison to the number of people there for the rally, only a small number did climb walls and police seemed to move barricades out of the way and they did go into the buildings where security guards stepped aside and let them in. Some of these people were nothing shy of demonically processed with intentions of furthering the antichrist spirit and inhibiting the grace of our heavenly father. They were escorted by new media camera men, also “breaching” the capitol and filming like it was a movie or television show.
I call this “perilous times” because God told us this would happen. I do not tell you these things so you fear, but instead get prepared. I look forward to the day when I can meet each of you in person, which will probably be when we all get to heaven (since you are all scattered over the globe). I love that God lead you here and that we can study the word together – I love you. So, I tell you in love that God already knew and already has made a way.
I am aware that this event happened in the USA – but this and other events globally show us that the end is near and it is going to be a rough road. And still, God knew before any of this (or future events) happen(ed) and has already made a way for me and you personally through it all.

We have discussed verse 12 before – and how the word “suffering” here includes all levels of suffering and we should not fear the worse. All things will work together for the good… because God is good… He is our father… we are loved… we have nothing to fear. We are reading Job – where Job asks if God is just and if He rules with justice. When we get to the end we shall see the answer is yes, but not the yes we expect or hope for. The world is not designed with a means that prevents all suffering, as heaven has no suffering. And we as small humans only know in part, therefore we do not know the full meaning of the term justice as our great Creator and the Father of all knows. His ways are not our ways. We must stop trying so hard in vain, and let God’s will be fulfilled in our lives and in our world.

God has a plan and we must be prepared. Let the trumpet of the rapture happen while we are busy doing the work of the Lord and engaged in battle, in full submission to His will.
Let us prepare so we aren’t included in verse 13 – “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived”. Let us not be deceived or deceive others with us trying to control our situations. Put aside manipulation and human reasoning and logic. Let us rebuke the spirit of humanism in our lives.

I also want to point out that President Trump DID NOT concede the election. He did say they have to begin the transfer to Biden. I am not a prophet and do not want you to take this as prophecy – but I will not stop believing God will make a way for Trump to continue to be president, until the year 2021 is over and He is still not in office. I suppose it is because I am aware of the evil policies Biden says he intends to implement and how they are against Biblical principles and a Godly way of living and I do not want to live under that kind of political oppressions and as always I long for God’s grace. Trump may not be a godly man (or who I would want as president when it comes to personality), but at least he has supported legislation that supports Christians, religious freedom, anti-abortion, and godly principles. None the less, not my will, but God’s will. God is God, ask Him to reveal how big that really is!

Dear Heavenly Father – Please expose the lies and reveal the truth. Please continue to inhibit the works of the enemy. Please renew a right spirit in us and do not take away your Holy Spirit from us – restore to us the joy of our salvation and let us shine with your glory for your honor. Please deliver us, empower us, assist us, help train and prepare us, and draw closer to us giving us a longing for more of you, a fire for you, and a hunger for you. In the name of Jesus we pray ~ amen

Do you already have a relationship with a powerful God who cares about your every need because He loves you? Did you know my God can communicate with you and protect you – He has a plan for you to prosper if you just submit to His will and let His plan play out in your life!!! God wants a relationship with you and has already made a plan for your life. He loves you so much He sent His son to this world, to die as a sacrifice for your sins and rise from death with victory over sin and the ability to have a personal relationship with you.
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 NIV
Here is a prayer for you to pray:
Jesus, I believe you are the way, the truth, the life, and the only way to the Father. I believe you are the son of God, you came to Earth and lived. That you died on the cross as a sacrifice for my sins, and rose again so that I may be saved from my sins and be able to get to know you. I declare: Jesus, you are Lord!
Therefore, I confess that I am a sinner and I ask that you forgive me of my sins and come into my life. Help me to turn away from my sins and transform me into what you have lovingly created me to be. Help me through a real personal relationship grow and accept your will for my life – that I may live in your blessings. Please walk with me, and talk with me – I accept a relationship with you and with our Father God, through you. In the name of Jesus I pray ~ Amen

MEMORY WORK: 2 Corinthians 10:4
NKJV – “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds”
NAS – “for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.”
ESV – “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.”
NLT – “We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.”
NIV – “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”

Thank you for reading.
May the God of peace keep you and bless you. May you stay focused on Christ and covered in grace.
Maranatha ~ Come Lord Jesus!

Job’s Discourse on the Wicked

21 Then Job answered and said:
“Listen carefully to my speech,
And let this be your [a]consolation.
Bear with me that I may speak,
And after I have spoken, keep mocking.

“As for me, is my complaint against man?
And if it were, why should I not be impatient?
Look at me and be astonished;
Put your hand over your mouth.
Even when I remember I am terrified,
And trembling takes hold of my flesh.
Why do the wicked live and become old,
Yes, become mighty in power?
Their descendants are established with them in their sight,
And their offspring before their eyes.
Their houses are safe from fear,
Neither is [b]the rod of God upon them.
10 Their bull breeds without failure;
Their cow calves without miscarriage.
11 They send forth their little ones like a flock,
And their children dance.
12 They sing to the tambourine and harp,
And rejoice to the sound of the flute.
13 They spend their days in wealth,
And [c]in a moment go down to the [d]grave.
14 Yet they say to God, ‘Depart from us,
For we do not desire the knowledge of Your ways.
15 Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him?
And what profit do we have if we pray to Him?’
16 Indeed [e]their prosperity is not in their hand;
The counsel of the wicked is far from me.

17 “How often is the lamp of the wicked put out?
How often does their destruction come upon them,
The sorrows God distributes in His anger?
18 They are like straw before the wind,
And like chaff that a storm [f]carries away.
19 They say, ‘God [g]lays up [h]one’s iniquity for his children’;
Let Him recompense him, that he may know it.
20 Let his eyes see his destruction,
And let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
21 For what does he care about his household after him,
When the number of his months is cut in half?

22 “Can anyone teach God knowledge,
Since He judges those on high?
23 One dies in his full strength,
Being wholly at ease and secure;
24 His [i]pails are full of milk,
And the marrow of his bones is moist.
25 Another man dies in the bitterness of his soul,
Never having eaten with pleasure.
26 They lie down alike in the dust,
And worms cover them.

27 “Look, I know your thoughts,
And the schemes with which you would wrong me.
28 For you say,
‘Where is the house of the prince?
And where is [j]the tent,
The dwelling place of the wicked?’
29 Have you not asked those who travel the road?
And do you not know their signs?
30 For the wicked are reserved for the day of doom;
They shall be brought out on the day of wrath.
31 Who condemns his way to his face?
And who repays him for what he has done?
32 Yet he shall be brought to the grave,
And a vigil kept over the tomb.
33 The clods of the valley shall be sweet to him;
Everyone shall follow him,
As countless have gone before him.
34 How then can you comfort me with empty words,
Since [k]falsehood remains in your answers?”

Eliphaz Accuses Job of Wickedness

22 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said:
“Can a man be profitable to God,
Though he who is wise may be profitable to himself?
Is it any pleasure to the Almighty that you are righteous?
Or is it gain to Him that you make your ways blameless?

“Is it because of your fear of Him that He corrects you,
And enters into judgment with you?
Is not your wickedness great,
And your iniquity without end?
For you have taken pledges from your brother for no reason,
And stripped the naked of their clothing.
You have not given the weary water to drink,
And you have withheld bread from the hungry.
But the [l]mighty man possessed the land,
And the honorable man dwelt in it.
You have sent widows away empty,
And the [m]strength of the fatherless was crushed.
10 Therefore snares are all around you,
And sudden fear troubles you,
11 Or darkness so that you cannot see;
And an abundance of water covers you.

12 “Is not God in the height of heaven?
And see the highest stars, how lofty they are!
13 And you say, ‘What does God know?
Can He judge through the deep darkness?
14 Thick clouds cover Him, so that He cannot see,
And He walks above the circle of heaven.’
15 Will you keep to the old way
Which wicked men have trod,
16 Who were cut down before their time,
Whose foundations were swept away by a flood?
17 They said to God, ‘Depart from us!
What can the Almighty do to [n]them?’
18 Yet He filled their houses with good things;
But the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

19 “The righteous see it and are glad,
And the innocent laugh at them:
20 ‘Surely our [o]adversaries are cut down,
And the fire consumes their remnant.’

21 “Now acquaint yourself with Him, and be at peace;
Thereby good will come to you.
22 Receive, please, instruction from His mouth,
And lay up His words in your heart.
23 If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up;
You will remove iniquity far from your tents.
24 Then you will lay your gold in the dust,
And the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks.
25 Yes, the Almighty will be your [p]gold
And your precious silver;
26 For then you will have your delight in the Almighty,
And lift up your face to God.
27 You will make your prayer to Him,
He will hear you,
And you will pay your vows.
28 You will also declare a thing,
And it will be established for you;
So light will shine on your ways.
29 When they cast you down, and you say, ‘Exaltation will come!
Then He will save the humble person.
30 He will even deliver one who is not innocent;
Yes, he will be delivered by the purity of your hands.”

Job Proclaims God’s Righteous Judgments

23 Then Job answered and said:
“Even today my complaint is bitter;
[q]My hand is listless because of my groaning.
Oh, that I knew where I might find Him,
That I might come to His seat!
I would present my case before Him,
And fill my mouth with arguments.
I would know the words which He would answer me,
And understand what He would say to me.
Would He contend with me in His great power?
No! But He would take note of me.
There the upright could reason with Him,
And I would be delivered forever from my Judge.

“Look, I go forward, but He is not there,
And backward, but I cannot perceive Him;
When He works on the left hand, I cannot behold Him;
When He turns to the right hand, I cannot see Him.
10 But He knows the way that I take;
When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.
11 My foot has held fast to His steps;
I have kept His way and not turned aside.
12 I have not departed from the commandment of His lips;
I have treasured the words of His mouth
More than my [r]necessary food.

13 “But He is unique, and who can make Him change?
And whatever His soul desires, that He does.
14 For He performs what is appointed for me,
And many such things are with Him.
15 Therefore I am terrified at His presence;
When I consider this, I am afraid of Him.
16 For God made my heart weak,
And the Almighty terrifies me;
17 Because I was not cut off [s]from the presence of darkness,
And He did not hide deep darkness from my face.
