Don’t sleep – Make Bread!

“But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13 ESV

Are you feeling so overwhelmed with everything that you are beginning not to care – ready to hide your head in the sand? Do you just want to sleep it off? Are you just rolling through routine and forgotten your purpose? How about making some bread, instead?

Dear Heavenly Father – Thank you for your Word, please help us hide it in our hearts to keep us strengthened.  Please open our eyes to see and our understanding to learn more of you. – In Jesus name we pray, Amen

This week, these messages shall be shorter, as I was having computer issues – which God has already provided a solution for!! Praise the Lord! (And fortunately I still have access to at least upload shorter studies! God is good!) Please keep my blessing in prayer that it isn’t delayed in the mail.

The world we live in is so overwhelmingly distracting and it feels like evil is mixed right in with good.  But that is not just a feeling – it is the truth. And we cannot sleep and hide from it.  If we sleep the enemy will sneak in and ruin the harvest!

In the same respect – it is also almost time for the harvest! “His men” fell asleep for a moment and now there are tares in with the wheat!  Therefore, we must ask ourselves: will we be found a wheat unto harvest or a tare destined for the fire? Wake up and finish growing and be found to be a wheat and not a weed!

24 He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field, 25 but while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weedsamong the wheat and went away. 26 So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also. 27 And the servantsof the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So the servants said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, “Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’” Matthew 13:24-30 ESV

I know these times are hard – it’s hard for everyone. We must not get distracted with the daily grind and we must stay focus on the eternal. Are you awake? Are you pursuing His purpose? Are you growing up as a wheat ready for harvest?

How is your relationship with Christ? You talking with Him daily? Are you reading His Word? Are you growing closer to Him? Are you a wheat ready to be made into flour, made into bread?

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” John 6:35 ESV

What is the bread? Bread represents Jesus Himself! Bread is also the representation of the body of Christ!

And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” Luke 22:19 ESV

And we, the church, are also called the Body of Christ!  So logic reasons that we are to grow into good clean wheat, made to be harvested and made into the flour – the flour that makes the Body of Christ!

Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:27 ESV

If you don’t already, and today you would like to have a relationship with a God and become part of the Body of Christ, then please know that I have put the “A, B, C’s of Salvation” in my introduction. Please click here to follow the link.**
