Soften our hearts (part 1)

“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,” Acts 3:19 NKJV

Dear Heavenly Father – Thank you Lord for your grace. Thank you that you are faithful when we repent to forgive us our sins. Please speak to me and to everyone reading this as we know your word is empowering and transformative. Open our eyes, wake us up, and please open our understanding. In the name of Jesus – Amen

Grace – after the last 2 posts all that remains is grace.  If not for grace we would be condemned to eternal hell-fire – but through grace we find mercy and forgiveness, conviction to repentance. Grace! Glorious grace! The kind of grace that brings all glory to God! Because if not for God, where would we be?

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1 KJV

First hold in your heart that all conviction is from God unto repentance and all condemnation is of the enemy to bondage to sin.  Then, we can move on.

He said, “Go and tell this people: “‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’ 10 Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”
11 Then I said, “For how long, Lord?”
And he answered: “Until the cities lie ruined and without inhabitant, until the houses are left deserted and the fields ruined and ravaged, 12 until the 
Lord has sent everyone far away and the land is utterly forsaken. 13 And though a tenth remains in the land, it will again be laid waste. But as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut down, so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.” Isaiah 6:9-13 NIV

This passage is repeated twice in the New Testament. In Matthew 13:15 Jesus quotes it; and in Acts 28:27 it appears again.  The warning that our hearts will be hardened is for those who believe and had soft hearts full of faith and belief at one point. You see if it was already hard, it could not be hardened. It was first a warning to the Jews – and now a warning for all believers.  
Jesus said, while talking of the times in which I believe we are living also reiterates this concept of the hardening of the heart:
“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” Matthew 24:12 KJV
This is why I carry on like this this week. I see so many lukewarm brothers and sisters – and my heart grieves. Wake up!!! Now is not the time to be screwing off. We have a sin problem and a heart condition!!!! Dear heavenly Father, forgive us and save us! Forgive us and save us!!! Please transform us! Help us oh Lord!!! Soften our hearts, please. If you find any hardness – reveal it to us that we may repent! Heal and restore us, oh Lord – thank you for your grace! Through the blood of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Verse 11 of Isaiah 6 – For how long?? How long with God permit sinners to have a hardened heart?? You see, through Grace some of us have Jesus revealed to us and have guarded our hearts against hardening – but the bible also speaks to the great slumber in His church and an awakening.  This verse probable refers to “Jacob’s Sorrow” also known as the 7 year tribulation and salvation of the Jews. The recent Peace treaty in Israel has the prophesies in motion.  But must we wait until then to have our eyes open to see? To have our ears listening? To obtain understanding? No

Paul writes to the Ephesians the way in which this curse is broken and we have and can receive the revelation. This passage is a prayer – Paul prayed it over the early churches – we should follow his example and pray it over our churches, the whole body of Christ around the world, pray it over yourself, your love ones, the prodigals, and the unbelievers. It is powerful. It is one of the passages my mother used to pray over me during all my years of hardened backslidden heart and I believe it is why I have fallen in love with studying the scriptures and why I am saved:
“16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.” Ephesians 1:16-21 KJV

AMEN!

As God is sending meaty messages of repentance – showing us it is a daily activity and that our righteousness is nothing more than the gift of forgiveness – it is important to search our own hearts to find any hardened areas and repent. 

Or loving and faithful Father will reveal all that needs to be changed, softened, repented of and turned into what He originally intended for us. A life blessed by His protection, overflowing in His provisions – under attack? Probably – abundant provisions sometimes at the last moment? Many times. BUT none the less walking win complete obedience and surrender is greater than anything the world can offer!

Will we occasionally sin? Yes – but forgiveness is available.  Will we intentionally sin and continue in sin? “God forbid” Romans 6:2a KJV
We are in a relationship with a God of mercy and grace – Who above all else loves us with an longsuffering love as we learn – none the less He is also calling us to wake up – do better – rise to a higher standard. Open our eyes and ears – flood our hearts with the understanding of Him as it is the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34)

So our hearts shall bear witness of our relationship with Him and our mouths will glorify Him in all our ways for our benefit, for the benefit of the unbelievers and moreover for the GLORY OF GOD!!

Compromise?

Dear Heavenly Father – Thank you this time we can spend in your word. Please speak to me and to everyone reading this as we know your word is empowering and transformative. Open our eyes, wake us up, and please open our understanding. In the name of Jesus – Amen

There is a call going out from the pulpits – going out from other believers – going out from the faithful – The call is to a higher standard. The call is to an uncompromised obedient life style.  I hear God telling me it’s time to be obedient.  Enough with the excuses and enough with justifying. 

This week I had multiple conversations with Christians about forgiving and asking forgiveness and honestly feel repentance is a daily thing. Because being human is hard. We are utterly and completely fallible and dying to sin is completely against our nature.  Moreover, as we grow so does the definition of sin.

We are pretty familiar with the basic definition of sin. Here is what Jesus says defiles us:
“And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.” Mark 7:20-23 ESV

And John said:
“Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.1 John 3:4 ESV

And Paul said:
“Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21 ESV

Sin defiles us. It is lawlessness which is the opposite of righteousness (God called us to righteousness which is given through asking for forgiveness of our sins).  And those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.  Yes – those who do even the least of sin don’t get into heaven.

Why isn’t this preached more? We are all taking our time to give up sins and slowing getting right with God – but if it is the end times, shouldn’t we be ready? Not still working on it.

Makes me think of the parable of the 10 brides.
“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. 11 Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ 12 But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.” Matthew 25:1-13 ESV

Five of them were foolish and were not ready yet when the bridegroom came.  When they finally took things serious and got themselves ready, they came to the feast and Jesus says “Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.”

These verses are abundantly clear. Why then is compromise tolerated in modern Christians when it was clearly not accepted by Christ or by the early church.

“Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” Romans 6:12-14 KJV

So the cure for sin is to confess to Jesus and ask forgiveness of those sins – and he will be faithful and just to forgive and clean us from all unrighteousness.

Now to briefly go deeper. When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray he gave them what we call “The Lord’s Prayer” in Matthew 6:9-13. Without digging into this prayer I just want to point out that Jesus said, ‘When you pray, pray like this’. And we know all the verses that say pray daily and pray without ceasing – so this is a daily prayer and then I want to point out verse 12: and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors” (ESV).  This verse makes it very clear that repentance is a daily activity. AND verse 15…
but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:15 ESV

Unforgiveness is huge! We must forgive others and we must be forgiven in order to get to heaven. This is such a big deal that Jesus himself includes it in a daily prayer for us.

Now, briefly just a little deeper. I know I have shared this verse yesterday, so today I will use a different version:
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.” Matthew 7:21-23 ESV

Again – let us focus on the second half of verse 21 where they describe who actually enters the kingdom of heaven, who is the one who does the will of God.  So, the deeper definition of sin is to disobey the will of our Father. By way of example: God says to you: Go to church on Sunday and you respond: I will watch it on the internet. It is a sin if God said to go. And you’ll need to repent.

There is therefore, now no condemnation (Romans 8:1)!!!! So how does this work? I know I am a sinful mess and we all are. So what do we do – some of us are working on things.
Repent= confess, ask forgiveness and turn away from it – daily while forgiving others.
Focus on Jesus – It is hard to sin when focused on Him.
Struggles do happen – ask God for deliverance and assistance getting through it.
Repent again! Remember this is daily.  This isn’t for the same sin necessarily. Usually it is for new sins – but I have noticed within myself with bigger sins God keeps reminding me of different areas of a multifaceted sin – some times each area need repentance.  This is not out of condemnation of sins which have already been cleansed – but rather it is for conviction of sin not truly or fully repented of.

Finally walk in your relationship with the Father through Christ Jesus with a heart after Godliness and full of love and grace, marvelous grace does the rest.

Wake up!

Dear Heavenly Father – Thank you this time we can spend in your word. Please speak to me and to everyone reading this as we know your word is empowering and transformative. Open our eyes, wake us up, and please open our understanding. In the name of Jesus – Amen

For those of you who read the title and the first verse (above) and think you know what these things mean, please hang in there with me through this – you’ll see why. For those of you who do not know, let us study this together.

Repent in the verse above comes the Greek words meta and noieo and means to reconsider or think differently.  Therefore let us put aside our mind set that we know certain things and reconsider some familiar passages ‘so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord’.
In our broader understanding of all passages with this theme, we understand that “Repent” is an acknowledgement of any sin, a confession of that sin to God, and asking for forgiveness of the sin with the intention to not continue in that sin. (Remembering that Jesus also taught us to forgive others so we may be forgiven.)

Both Christians and non-Christians sin. So – this message is for both Christians and non-Christians. Our sins are different from person to person and in our eyes – but sin is sin in God’s eyes and it doesn’t matter if your sin is small or big in human eyes.  Sin separates us from Christ and repentance should be a daily activity. If today, you haven’t yet repented, please take a moment to do so before we go on.

Amen! So, we are gathered together (socially distant by time and space, yet together in spirit outside of any constraints) and therefore the verse:
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20 NIV
applies – and Jesus is with us and His presence is here. We have met the requirements for a time of refreshing. Heavenly Father we are ready and accept a refreshing from you – show us things in a new way – do a new work in us, Lord we ask in the name of Jesus – Amen

Sometimes when I am tired and need to be refreshed, I take a nap. Now is not the time for a nap though. We must rely on time spent in the presence of God with our brothers and sisters – to be refreshed.

“This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.” Romans 13:11 NLT
This verse cannot ring more true at any other point in human history except maybe tomorrow, or the day after or in the future as each day is a day closer to the coming of our Lord Jesus (the rapture) and the impending Jacob’s Sorrow. 
The Bible says we will know the signs of the time, but not the day and hour – and it doesn’t take a prophet to see the world stage is poised for the event of Jacob’s Sorrow to be played out. We are desperately running out of time.
Although the urgency should not be underplayed – If we are wrong and the Lord tarries for another 100 years, praise the Lord as more can be saved during that time. If we are right and the urgency is for right now, this moment, then we better be obedient to God and busy doing His work.

“making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:16 ESV
The Apostle Paul wrote this because the times they lived in were becoming very evil. I wonder, can he peak down from heaven and see what our world has become? What would he say of this evil? The Epstein human sex trafficking scandal is being downplayed or not covered by mainstream media here in the United States. And as I google for world news from other countries, I fail to find much. The world is turning a blind eye to sex slaves and pedophilia?! And that isn’t even the most grievous of sins being exposed and brushed off. What about all the celebrities and world leaders and US officials and Bill Gates blatantly supporting demonology, witchcraft, and other antichrist activities?!  Does anyone care? Have our hearts grown so cold we can look the other way because it isn’t on our doorstep and we do not have to turn on the news or internet to see it?
Do not tell me the evil hasn’t increased, instead our access to it has, so now it seems like more – it is a lie from the pit of hell to keep us asleep. If the evil hasn’t increased then it is not the end times. But it has! Wake up! The fig tree has blossomed. The temple is ready. The technology for the mark of the beast has been tested. The one world order is prepared. Israel has signed the peace treaty, for heaven’s sake!!! What else needs to be – to wake you up!

I wish it wasn’t now, I wish there was more time, I wish we could eat, drink and be merry without consideration of the dire truth. Fasting and praying and dyeing to self and sin is hard and serious work, and honestly not as fun as sin initially is. Moreover – the “friends” I have lost and people who I thought were friend who now actively mock me and attack me on social media platforms.  But the truth is now known and I cannot deny it. There is no other way – and the time is short. I don’t need friends like that anyway.

Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” James 4:4 NKJV
“Enemy of God”. Oof! It is high time to wake up as Romans 13:11 says. Are we in a covenant with our God as the bride of Christ – or are we cheating on him?! Oh Lord, separate the wheat from the tares!

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Matthew 6:24 NIV
You cannot serve God and sin, or God and flesh, or God and idols, or God and anything else! You can not serve God and any thing else.

“And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 ESV
It’s time for real commitment. It is time to take a real, honest look inside and see if we are making any compromises.  It’s time to wake up and get serious about this – it is life or death. Yes – life or death.

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.” Romans 6:1-7 KJV
God forbids continuing in sin! You see, salvation is a free gift:
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 NIV
However, you must also repent, acknowledge any sin, confess that sin to God, and asking for forgiveness of the sin with the intention to not continue in that sin. (Remembering that Jesus also taught us to forgive others so we may be forgiven.)

“So, because you are lukewarm–neither hot nor cold–I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” Revelations 3:16 NIV
Basically – this says you can be a Christian professing Christ can still NOT make it into heaven. Don’t believe Revelations? Well here are the words of Jesus:
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’” Matthew 7:21-23 NIV

ONLY those who DO THE WILL of my Father. 

I have been told by a couple people that I use the word obedience too often that I could probably find a nicer word. People do not like that word. What if I am nice and people miss the point – only obedience gets into heaven. There it is. In the words of Jesus.
If you are my brother or sister in Christ, I cannot hold my tongue and watch you be deceived. I love the family of Christ – and so does God and He wants to make sure you know the truth. Do not waste your relationship with Him and miss the point and miss out on glory. And if you do know the Lord, I love you as well – Because God loves you enough to get this message into your hands to learn – He wants to be your friend and save you from the wrath to come! As I always say:

Guarding the Mind (part 4)

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NIV
Here is another command. How do we be strong? Luckily, when we are weak, He is strong. And when we are strong, it is Him in us that makes us strong and it is all for His glory. This is grace, that He is with us always and He is working, always.

Dear Heavenly Father – Thank you for helping us be strong and courageous as we overcome our minds, thoughts and the battle against our minds. Please help everyone reading to guard their minds and hearts so you are glorified in us. Heal our minds, please oh Lord, as we meditate on these verses. Open our eyes, wake us up, and please open our understanding. In the name of Jesus – Amen

Another day to be encouraged by the scriptures!!!! Amen?! A day to say: “It is written!” Therefore I believe it and that settles it. Let me continue to challenge you to try to memorize some of these – they shall be our battle cry when the mind becomes a battle field. The words of the Lord are not fallible and never return void. I can tell you with confidence that: Jesus says…..

“But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I.” John 5:17 NLT
Memorize this and use it to guard your mind! So that when you hear that small voice that is trying to mimic the voice of God and it says: you have been serving God for a year and you look back and you are still praying the same prayers. Still praying for the same things. God hasn’t and isn’t able to answer them.
I can boldly answer in my most solid tone of voice: IT IS WRITTEN – OUR FATHER AND HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST MY LORD, ARE WORKING! Say it again out loud! IT IS WRITTEN – OUR FATHER AND HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST MY LORD, ARE WORKING! The have been, they are, and they will continue to work all things for the good of them who love Him! They have been, they are, and they continue to draw the prodigals home! They have been, they are, and they will continue to save our unsaved love ones. God’s word said it. I believe it. The demons believe also and tremble because our true and living God is powerful and loving and able – and is working!
Guard your mind with the words: IT IS WRITTEN and Holy power shall flood your mind!

Glory to God!!!! Should we continue?!?! Cause that alone has me up from my seat, with my hands raised in worship!!! OK, sitting back down – let’s move on.

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”  Mark 11:24 NIV
Back to my feet! WHATEVER!! So what if I do not have the answers to my prayers yet and it’s been a year – because I believe. I believe. I believe.
Lord Jesus, I ask you for [insert whatever] and I thank you that it is on its way! That you will be glorified in the answers to my prayers! AMEN
Do you know what makes this more powerful – When that ‘whatever’ that you are praying for is a Biblical promise taken in context, and you have the confidence that it is the will of our Father – of course it shall be answered with a yes! And it will be!!!
There are also verses that warn about praying for your own lust and fleshly desires that are bad for you. Praying for the fulfillment of your sins will sometimes be answered with a yes – then woe, the lesson follows.  Whenever my friends give a prayer request – or we think of a prayer request or even if I have one on my own – I always says: what is the verse? Where is our right to ask this? Where is our promise to stand on? Where is the verse I am going to cry out to God as I persevere in a dark moment struggling in belief: But Lord, Lord – your word says it, I believe it! Help my unbelief and hear my cry of God!!! I thank you that you always do as your word says; and it says this; and I know you are doing it!!   
Because I have the verse – my faith is made strong again and I can carry on the fight. This is another battle won in our mind! Guard your mind! Guard it with scriptural promises!

For grace sake, guard your minds! So that you can stand fast in the liberty!
“For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.”  Romans 6:14 NIV
Submit to God not sin. If you cannot help a sin in your life – pray for deliverance! Heavenly father set us free! Set us free!!! We can only have one master – either it is sin that we serve or it is the one true and Holy God. Choose this day who you will serve. You cannot serve both; either bondage to death or freedom to everlasting life – zoe, God’s life! (Zoe is the Greek word for Life)

“For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:13-14 NIV
Notice the past tense. Notice the glorious past tense structure of this sentence!!! Our rescue is finished. Our forgiveness is finished (confess and ask forgiveness to accept it)! Our redemption is gloriously completed! Guard your minds against condemnation and guilt and shame and the enemy’s attempts to cloud your mind again with darkness. No! Do not permit it! Lord, please cleanse our minds and fill them with light and the Holy Spirit. Please fill our minds with your wisdom and be glorified! Thank you for rescuing us from the dominion of darkness! Heavenly father, forgive us of our sins – and thank you for forgiving us and redeeming us! Amen Now, my dear friends, never doubt again. We have put that fight to bed. If in the future, the enemy tries to cloud you in darkness just shout: NO!!! I am redeemed! It is written and I prayed it on today’s date! I am filled with the kingdom of light! Holy glorious light! Amen?!

“Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you.” Deuteronomy 3:22 NIV
When guarding the mind, often the enemy uses fear. We are mortal, fallible, and born of sin nature – so all too often we find ourselves afraid before we even realize fear is tempting us. Oh we of little faith (as Jesus responded to His beloved disciples when they too had the same fall into fear, before they even knew they were tempted). But as Jesus continued to love His disciples and fight for them and even built His church on them – He also loves us and fights for us and has glorious plans for us!!! This is how we guard against fear – we trust, we believe, we quote: IT IS WRITTEN THAT GOD HIMSELF WILL FIGHT FOR ME!
We have nothing to fear except God, if we choose rebellious disobedience to His word.

So, to conclude our guarding of our minds lessons – for the time being…
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:10-12 NIV
We must guard our whole self along with our mind. And what is part of the armor of God? The helmet of Salvation. And this helmet is for those who already have eternal salvation – this salvation must be moved out of our knowledge and wrapped around our head and mind! It is our authoritative covering and the beginning of guarding our minds!

There are so many more promises in the scripture to help guard our minds. If the verse you need isn’t in these posts, search the Bible and ask God for it. It’s all part of our relationship with Him.  He is faithful and just – we just need to stay full of faith that when we fail – He is always lovingly there to pick up the pieces and place us back on the path next to him.

Guarding the Mind (part 3)

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.”  Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

Dear Heavenly Father – Thank you for making our paths straight as we seek you to overcome our minds, thoughts and the battle against our minds. Please help everyone reading to guard their minds and hearts so you are glorified in us. Heal our minds, please oh Lord, as we meditate on these verses. Open our eyes, wake us up, and please open our understanding. In the name of Jesus – Amen

It is again, a day to be encouraged by the scriptures. A day to say: “It is written!” Therefore I believe it and that settles it. Let me challenge you to try to memorize some of these – they shall be our battle cry when the mind becomes a battle field. The words of the Lord are not fallible and never return void. I can tell you with confidence that: The Lord says…..

When our minds are given over to Him in complete trust – He makes our ways straight! Hallelujah! And when we stray, or find ourselves off course:
“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.”  Psalm 34:17 NIV
He delivers us! Deliverance! Stronghold pulled down, demonic influences shut down, demons cast out – glory to God kind of deliverance! The kind that transforms us by removing the evil and filling us with more Holy Spirit! The kind that empowers us and makes us bold! The kind of deliverance that transports us back onto the straight path He has provided for us!

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Proverbs 4:23 NIV
As we learn about guarding our mind, we know there is a connection between the mind and the heart.  Guard also our heart! When we fall in love with a person, we know that at first our mind thinks of them so very often.  What we care about, what we love takes up space in our minds and it leads many of our actions like sending love notes and calling to hear their voice. This is one example, let’s look at a negative example: what if what we love is our sin. What if our heart pursues the lust of the flesh or lying or disobedience to God?! Those, then, also take up space in our mind and tempt us.  We must guard our hearts, therefore, in order to protect our minds.  Our hearts should love and our minds should think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, things of good report, things full of virtue and praise.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36 NIV
Dear Lord Jesus – We pray this verse. Please set our minds free and set our hearts free so we may freely follow and obey you.  Break any bondage, tear down any stronghold of the enemy, cast out any demons and set us free and on the straight path – for your glory and so that the will of our Father can be manifest in our lives! Through your blood, shed on the cross we pray – amen!

“This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles 20:15 NIV
The enemy seems great. There are so many all around us. Friends and loved ones in bondage being used by the enemy. Secular work environments with evil rising up against us daily. Everywhere I look with my earthly eyes – and it is so easy to get discouraged. BUT THIS IS A COMMAND: DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED OR AFRAID!!! DO NOT! Do not! Do not! Open our eyes Lord to see these things with your eyes! Because greater is He who is with me! And the army of Holy Angels is larger than the army of fallen angels. And even if there was not a vast army in spirit doing the work of our Father, the creator, He is able to overcome solely on His own. And in His infinite wisdom He has set forth Holy Angels and opportunity for us to grow and learn through these experiences instead of just doing everything for us. Like a good parent, like we do for our children. Praise the Lord, though – because in the end we cannot fail. It is His battle, His reputation and His glory on the line, not our own. And He is a succeeding God!    

“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” Psalm 55:22 NIV
Do not be shaken, as evil grows and end time prophesy fulfilled – do not be shaken. Stand fast. Give Him your cares for He cares for you. Give it all to Him. Even the small things. Give Him your cares about politics and He will guide you and help you pray over our world, country and local leaders. Give Him your cares for your unsaved love one and prodigals and He will send people to them to bear witness. Give him your daily things and He will help you and keep you all day.  Give Him the small thing – the intimate tiny little things you would not dare bother anyone with – in this verse God is asking for those as well. God is asking – do not leave Him hanging out there. Disobedience is like rebellion against God. So give it all to him.
Cares kept inside our minds turn into worry and that turns into anxiety. Cares kept inside have the potential to cause sin, cause us to act in our will, our might, our plans and NOT Gods – this can lead to evil grabbing a foothold. Things can snowball from there. And it all can be avoided by guarding our minds and simply trusting God to handle all our cares big and small. And that is our hope…

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12 NIV
Hope gives joy!  We have studies tests and trials and troubles – affliction is another with its own unique characteristics and causes. But in them all be patient. Hang onto God and do not let go. And pray, always. Do not keep these things in your mind! Guard your mind especially in times of affliction.

There are so many verses – so many ways to guard our minds! So many battles fought in our minds and so many promises of God for each and every one. He has already made the promise. It is already written. If the promise for your situation isn’t here, then search the Bible! I have never ever once not found a promise in the Bible for any situation I was praying for. I can honestly say, there were a couple times I threw my hands up and said – there is no promise in the Bible for this problem.  I was wrong – deeply wrong!  There was a promise – I just didn’t want that one because it didn’t fulfil my fleshly desires. Well, God straightened me out – put me back on the straight path walking with Him. And that same promise now comforts me more than most other promises. This – This is what a relationship is all about. So much like a relationship with a close human friend, except this friend’s advice never fails and this friend has the power to change the world!

Guarding the Mind (part 2)

“(The devil) He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44

Dear Heavenly Father – Thank you for the promises provided in your word and for encouragement directly from you. Please help everyone reading to guard their minds and hearts so you are glorified in us. Heal our minds, oh Lord, as we meditate on these verses. Open our eyes, wake us up, and please open our understanding. In the name of Jesus – Amen

It is again, a day to be encouraged by the scriptures. Our minds can often be a battle field so here are a few verses to assist and encourage you while you guard your mind. Today and yesterday, my mind was not the battlefield, my house was! So many distractions and chaos. These verses have been great encouragement for me in that arena as well.
Let me challenge you to try to memorize some of these – they shall be our battle cry when the mind becomes a battle field. The words of the Lord are not fallible and never return void. I can tell you with confidence that: The Lord says…..

The devil is a liar! A liar who came to steal, kill and destroy. Those are his functions. That is how we are to recognize if something is not of Christ and is of the devil.  Before we can recognize a lie, we must know the truth. We MUST fall in love with the scriptures and know them. We must know them in context, in application, in light and truth. Otherwise we will fall for the lies. Do not be deceived as the devil and his minions know the scriptures better than most of us. They take an element of truth and add to it lies!
Currently in the United States there are many truths being exposed in government and in the wealth population. Everything from human trafficking, pedophilia agendas, corrupt politicians, and many more.
Then I look at the news globally – and all over the whole earth, God is exposing the truth! Praise the Lord!
The Bible says in many places that what is done in private – God will expose. And He is. The lie that you will not get caught is a big one – you will get caught! The body of Christ has learned these verses and praying that God exposes truth!
Guard your mind against lies. Guard your mind against influences persuading you to lie – if you lie you have acted on behalf of satan and unrepented lying is an opportunity for satan to build a strong hold in your mind!
Dear Heavenly Father, protect us from Lies. Help us discern the truth.  And Lord help us to be honest trusting that you shall protect us. – in the name of Jesus we pray – amen

“I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:19-20 NIV
When was the last time you rejoiced that your name is written in heaven? Thank you Lord Jesus that through the work of the cross and your grace and mercy, my name is written in heaven! Hallelujah! It is all for your glory and praise! Thank you Lord! Amen
As we fight the battle for our minds and our daily spiritual battles – this verse proclaims our authority over the enemy. We have the authority given by Jesus Himself.
So when keeping guard we can cast down imaginations given to us and cast out wicked lying voices.
Imagine a body of Christ that understands this and moves in authority. What would the prayer requests on the church’s social media prayer page look like then? Right now it is over run with fear based prayers, and people who are praying for their own will, and requests for healings because they are worried and fearful. I love those people and pray for every last request, even if their answer is already written in the Bible they carry with them to church every Sunday. 
OooOoOoo but Glory to God – when the children of the Kingdom of God finally read their Bible, finally spend real time in the presence of the King, when they finally anoint with oil, lay hands on people in prayer, cast out demons, heal the sick and raise the dead!!!  What then will be left for the prayer chain to whine to God about in half belief all week? 
(Quick disclaimer – prayer works. Not everyone on the prayer chain is whining in unbelief. A great many are ineffective and that is my point. Not that all are ineffective, just that many are. Also, I recognize that there is a great awakening growing all over the world. But as of today – the majority of people who call themselves Christians in the United States and around the world are asleep.)
What good is authority if we are denying the power thereof?
“having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” 2 Timothy 3:5 NKJV
So Timothy would turn the early church away from the modern church! We must do better! It is in love that I say these things and they are the truth of the scripture. God loves you and has more for you. In the early church all the members of the body healed the sick and cast out demons – it is long past time for the children of God to reclaim their role.
The time is now, today is the day! In Romans 11:13 it says it is ‘high time to wake up!’ Winning the battle in our minds might first come by waking our minds up!
We must embrace our authority under the submission of understanding the real glory is that our names are written in Heaven, and the casting out and healing is all for more to have their names written next to ours in heaven!
This battle, the battle to be used by God in this way, is also won in the mind. A mind submitted and knowledgeable in the Lord can be used.  You can stand there crying to the Lord, “Here am I, send me” all day long – but you cannot be sent until you are ready. Be busy getting ready.

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
Nothing – not self-control, not controlling your mind, not being disciplined, not a thing – nothing will be impossible for you. I know, right? We do not usually apply this verse to self-discipline. We would rather struggle with our self and use this verse to encourage ourselves, that we can do some task we feel is not possible.
But I added this verse because of the faith element. Faith is a battle of the mind. Yes, faith comes by hearing the word (Romans 10:17).  Faith requires obedience as I did one of these studies completely on that. And faith is also a choice we make in our mind.
The strongest known force in the world (not of God) is a fixed mind. A mind that is guarded and set, unchangeable in its decision. If your mind is fixed, I could threated you with a gun to your head and you will not change your mind. It is untouchable.
There is an old children’s song that says: “God said it, I believe it, and that settles it for me.” Say it again and again (or sing it if you know the song). It’s empowering to fix you mind. Be steadfast in your faith. Let nothing, not even a gun to the head change your mind.
That my friends is a LOT more than just a mustard seed of faith! And it is won through a simple confession while determining it in your mind.

As we develop a closer relationship with Him, His words remind us that He is always near to us and already has a plan. He is ready to be part of our minds and part of the process to heal, protect and transform our minds – and give us peace.

Guarding the Mind (part 1)

“These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.” Jude 1:19–21

Dear Heavenly Father – Thank you for the opportunity to read your word and be encouraged directly from you. Thank you for growth. Please help everyone reading to guard their minds and hearts so you are glorified in us. Please open our understanding to what you have for us today. In the name of Jesus – Amen

It is a day to be encouraged by the scriptures. A day to say: “It is written!” Therefore I believe it and that settles it. I can tell you with confidence that: The Lord says…..

“No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn.” Isaiah 54:17 NASB
Yes, it shall be formed and yes, you’ll be accused – but the battle is the Lords. Just hang back covered in His mercy and grace and let Him fight the battle. But also – praise Him.  I have learned so many times it is our minds that stress and get worked up over the battle that we sabotage ourselves and God’s plan. Hang back and just praise Him. Just start singing and worshiping! God shall be glorified and God cannot fail.

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 NIV
One of the most blessed things about having this relationship with God is that He calls us His children. We are His babies. Just last night I was praying over a situation that hurt my feelings and I just said, “Daddy, it hurts” as I cried. My Daddy gave me instant peace. He has overcome the world, the circumstances that hurt me, and the battle over my mind. It is finished and He has won. So there is no need for us to rail against it all in struggle when we can give it to our Daddy and He can give us peace.

“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
Our very loving and merciful God is also a waring God.  Ask for a relationship with Him you are automatically enlisted in the army of God. It’s not very comforting when you first learn; but there is a very real enemy and he wants to kill, steal and destroy YOU! What better attack on your enemy than to kill, steal or destroy your enemies’ children??
But as always, God’s ways are not our ways. Our weapon is prayer and the Bible. The strongholds inside of us cannot stand – neither will the strongholds in the people we are interceding for.
Every argument is at the mercy of us – we have an experience. We know our Father. And every pretension and doubt should be torn down and thoughts that raises it’s self against our Father is to be taken captive. Did you understand? Again, so we understand the instructions:
Every argument, reasoning, thinking, conception, device, pretension, barrier, bulwark, presumption, and doubt is to be torn down and/or destroyed. So when faced with these things our response is either “It is written… [and insert appropriate scripture]” or if we do not have the verse in our head, immediately we pray for it to be torn down and/or destroyed. We aren’t to cast it out or bind it or rebuke it – learn the appropriate responses and have more effective prayers.
So first is the thoughts of others in the form of argument, reasoning, thinking, conception, device, pretension, barrier, bulwark, presumption, and doubt (which are to be torn down or destroyed).
And then “take captive every thought”, these are our thoughts. When it happens we catch ourselves – catch that thought. It is to bel held accountable to the word of God and obedience.   If the thought is wrong tell it so and then fill you mind with the things the Lord tells us to think on. What is that, you ask?

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” Philippians 4:8 NIV
If you know me, I bet you are surprised I did not use the King James Version for this. Someday I really need to transfer my study on this verse over to this blog.  It is a short study that goes through it word by word. Although the word in and of themselves are pretty self-explanatory. 
So here is a thought on how to use this to guard your mind – when you start to worry, have anxious thoughts, and they are difficult to bring under obedience – I often recommend to my friends to try to memorize this verse (in King James Version). The act of memorizing scriptures is thinking on the things we should be thinking on and this verse is hard enough that it requires enough focus that we are no longer submitting to worry or anxiety or fear. And I suggest King James because it has a rhythm to it that will actually make it a little easier (I am not trying to torture anyone).

“I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.”  Psalm 34:4 NIV
All my fears. I heard someone (cannot remember who) recently say something down the lines of: what you fear, you do not trust God with.  In practical application is looks like this: you fear covid-19 – therefore you do not trust God with your health.  You fear your enemy – therefore you do not trust God’s protection. You fear losing your job – you do not trust that God will provide.  You fear being vulnerable – you do not trust God’s love.  
What is more interesting than looking at it that way is that for every one of those there is a Bible promise and God is faithful and always keeps His promises. He heard you and answered before you knew you needed an answer.
I also recognize that there are fears that do not fall into this category and they are usually associated with a demonic influence. But God has still heard you and has made a way. Through prayer and fasting this fear too can be cast out. Just pray; “be cast out”. No worrying about where to, Jesus just cast it out so all we need to do is cast it out. We don’t need a name. Every name must submit to the name of Jesus and he said just cast it out. No praying that it is bound or rebuked. That isn’t what Jesus did and we aren’t in a position to improve upon His example. Just cast it out. Out, out, out! Out of you, your family, your house, etc. Then pray the Holy Ghost come and back fill that space. Whoo-hoo! More room for Jesus and the Holy Spirit fire! Amen?!

There are so many more scripture to encourage you and myself with regarding protecting our minds. So I think, if the Lord wills, we shall continue tomorrow.

These verses build faith and trust in our Father. As we develop a closer relationship with Him, His words remind us that He is always near to us and already has a plan. Mind Control

“The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.” 1 Peter 4:7 ESV

Dear Heavenly Father – Thank you for your mercy and grace.  Thank you for your help with controlling my mind and maintaining me in your grace. Thank you for loving me.  Thank you for growth. In the name of Jesus – Amen

What a wild ride, walking with Jesus can be!!! I learned to fight for my freedom, I learned to submit to God in all my ways, I learned to trust Him in the trials, I learn about my deliverance, I learn to be strong in Him when tired, I learn Joy unthinkable and full of glory, and I learned that it is all Him – I did not learn except He revealed it to me! Then I let my guard down – I let my imagination rise up and play out selfish scenarios. In my joy – I thought of the victories of God but then let my imagination play them out in a way in with I was avenged, I was justified in me, I was found faultless and not necessarily for the glory of God.  What a battle ground is in me when my flesh won’t die so easily!!!  

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41 NIV

For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.” Romans 7:19 NKJV

Let’s rewind: “The end of all things is at hand”. Such profound truth. Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. The time is NOW – if you cannot choose to submit yourself to obedience to Christ now and say you will once you see the rapture – you will not have the strength and ability to stand for Christ then. You must build your foundation and work out all the kinks NOW.  The urgency is substantial.

Yet knowing this and actively choosing to obey – I still find my mind a battle field.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” 2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV

Maybe this verse should have started this study? This is an order, a command, we are told here this is what we need to do – Harness our minds! Yes, it is a struggle.  So when I let my mind wander off – I went and captured it.  I repented of this sin – confessing and asking forgiveness.  I could see how this could, would, was leading to more sin – Pastor Tom always says: “sin will take you places you never thought you would go” and let me add that it happens faster than you realize and before you are even aware.  But there is therefore now no condemnation (Romans 8:1).  Repent and move on.  
So you say, “But I struggle with it – I am NOT intentionally continuing in sin. I try not to but I keep falling into it.”   I understand all too well.  First, I confess – my mind can be extremely unruly and even I am shocked by the thoughts that pop in there – and second, I realized your struggle may not be your mind. Whatever it is the answers are the same, and in any case your mind must be harnessed (as we read in the post about temptation – it is our minds that often tempt us.)

“Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:17 NLT

This was written to a church full of people who have salvation – so you would think that if they have salvation, then why would they need to put on the helmet of salvation? Are they not already saved?  

When we are saved we are no longer conformed to this world, we are supposed to be made new.  If we are not made new – we are not growing in the Lord and in obedience. We can have salvation and not wear it (which I am sure will lead to falling away). 

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2 ESV

I have a friend who confesses Jesus is Lord with such amazing accuracy of all Biblical principles and solid doctrine.  I wish I could proclaim my belief with such eloquence and conviction.  However, he has not been transformed. He is in bondage to many blatant sins, so much so that he lacks loves and I questioned if he was indeed saved.  He is saved by the skin of his teeth and I pray the Lord finds him faithful enough to enter heaven – NO! Rather: Dear Heavenly father, pour out transforming conviction, break his chains and loose him, set him on fire, fill him with the Holy Spirit! God forbid him to continue in sin that grace might abound!!! Chase down that child of yours and free him to serve you in obedience!!! In Jesus Name we pray – Amen!

And isn’t that what it all boils down to.  Sometimes it is a stronghold or a bondage. Lord Jesus, by your stripes we are healed, freed, and released! The battle is finished – therefore release us from bondage and stronghold, please, according to your word. Transform us by the renewing of our minds – Capture our mind and be glorified in them. Amen

Putting on the helmet of salvation is the transforming of our mind – bringing our thoughts into obedient submission to Christ. Notice the helmet covers our head and minds.  Our salvation is a free gift from Christ – our response is to be faithful in obedience through grace; and THAT IS our helmet of salvation! Our head covered in the proper authority, and covered with the grace and healing of the cross, and covered with the fruit of self-control.  

In 1 Corinthians 10:13 it says when we are tempted and struggle he makes a way out and sometimes that way out is just us recognizing the situation and us saying no. I am not participating in this. I have control over my mind. I have control over what situation I participate in. I have authority over myself and over demonic influences and I say enough! It is ok to walk away. It is ok to say no. It is ok to take control over yourself.  It doesn’t usually require God’s intervention, and it usually requires obedience.

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 NIV

I must control my mind. Period. That is the end all. The end of all things, so to speak. There may be a spiritual battle for my mind – but it is my responsibility to choose obedience and stand strong in my commitment to Him.

He is a Holy and Righteous God who graciously loves us and wants a relationship with Him. And He loves us through the process of working to be who he wants us to be.

Maranatha ~ Come Lord Jesus!

Joy and Rejoice!!!

“Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:8-9 ESV

Dear Heavenly Father – Thank you for your mercy and grace.  Thank you for always being here. Thank you for joy and discipline.  Thank you for growth. In the name of Jesus – Amen

I took a couple days to rest and pray and haven’t posted. As I have said before I post these to publish in the future.  This helps if I need a day or if something comes up. So, let me catch you up to what I have been going through.

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.” Philippians 4:4 ESV

A couple days ago, I woke up with inexplicable joy. I smiled all day. My cheeks hurt from smiling.  A dear sister in the Lord was telling me something God was working on and I was so excited and full of Joy that God was working, and people are being obedient to His word – that I exclaimed “Yay!” It was not a “Yay!” moment.  Always in love she helps keep me in line – especially with social responses.  She corrected me. I am SO VERY THANKFUL SHE DID!  I was so over joyed that I wasn’t being sensitive to my responses. Then…
In a work meeting, I received sad news that Covid-19 was potentially having an outbreak in my organization. I work in a health care organization with medically frail individuals and this news is potentially deadly and devastating.  Thank God it was a video chat meeting!!! I checked my face and made my facial expression match my co-workers the best I could.  But inside I was bubbling with JOY!!! Oh wait and see what my God is about to do! AMEN!!! As we have been studying on here – it is all about His glory and us having life! Life – not devastating numbers of death! Amen?

I haven’t been happy and a few years – I have been spending quality time with God and I am light and happy and it feels great!  

Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure.” Psalm 16:9 ESV

As I let go and let God I am seeing amazing things happening.  So much I cannot fill you in on everything.  I feel like a broken record all week – “God is Good!” “Now is the time, today is the day” “Life – the outpouring of Life” and “God is working”.

I shared the deliverance work I was doing with my Mother – the time is now. And she said she was doing it – when she finished she called me. I asked God to show me if she really did it – she hasn’t been the most reliable reporter in my life, I hope he understands my doubt in her. And the next morning I woke up with the Joy of the Lord. It must have worked.

Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.” Psalm 119:111 ESV

And by grace this comes back to testifying – Tell of the good things the Lord has done!!!! In faith tell of the good things He is doing!

When we submit in obedience to the work of the cross, to the redemption of who we are made to be, to God Himself through Christ Jesus – it is all joy!
Remember our discussion on trials – in James chapter one when it says “count it all joy” when you go through trials.  And when I discussed it, I honestly struggled to find any joy but I spoke the verse into my life none the less. It is written…. Therefore it is.  And through faith and grace – God has poured the joy into me.  And when I was tired as the battles rose up on every side and it all hit rapid fire around me – I found peace and strength and was able to persevere with joy.

Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 ESV

“THE JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH!”

There is a very serious spiritual battle raging, and as the clock ticks forward and time moves towards the next fulfilled prophecy of the Bible this battle intensifies.  I find myself in the battlefield smiling like a fool.  Because I know something the demons seem to have forgotten: My name is written in the Lambs Book of Life, and I have authority through Christ over them, and I through grace have faith to move mountains, and the battle is the Lord’s therefore I cannot fail, and IT IS FINISHED. 
ALL GLORY TO GOD!!!!  Glory to God!!!! See how the Joy burst up life a spring of living waters!!! See How we can rejoice and again rejoice so full of joy!!!!

Heavenly Father, please pour out your joy!!! There is strength and power in Joy to accomplish your will!  Joy brings glory to you Lord! Joy gives us live abundantly!!! We shall live and bless other with our overflow as you saturate us in joy, please Lord.  Such a wonderful thing!!! Please share it with those you have reading this. Empower them please with joy! In the name of Jesus and for your glory! Amen!

Joy is a feeling – yes. No doubt about it.  But it is also a command as we have seen in the many verses referenced here. If you do not believe me, pull up any concordance and search the words: “joy” and “rejoice”.  You shall see, over and over, in every verse – we are told to be full of joy and we are told to rejoice!  It is a choice. We must choose it – and the feelings follows.  Much like we must choose to love as God has told us and then the feelings follow. 

I have met the one true and living God. I have met the mighty God who cares about my daily life as well as caring for all things.  I have seen my God’s hand move in my life and in the world.  It is amazing that this all powerful creator wants to have relationships with us! Does this NOT bring joy? Do we not understand the enormity of it? Do we really know who Our Father is?!

Grace – His grace is sufficient! His Grace is joy! Hallelujah!

Tired?

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.” Isaiah 40:28-29 ESV

Dear Heavenly Father – Thank you for this opportunity to read your word and grow. I need this to full me, to change me into who you a want me to be.  I am tired from the enemies’ attacks and I focus on you for renewing and strength. I see the evils coming against my nation and against your people in my nation – I see the war raging against the world and your people in this world. Gather us in your peace while we fight to keep our eyes focused on you. Please strengthen our testimony by being glorified in our lives. Please use it to encourage and heal others. Thank you, thank you, thank you that our lives can glorify you. In the name of Jesus – Amen

Wow. What a crazy year this week has been! What a crazy year this year has been! I am keeping my eyes on Christ. And yet, I am tired. This world is a spiritual battle zone in need of constant prayer – God never fails and I grow tired of it. Maranatha, already, Jesus!!! Maranatha!!! But there is work to be done. Souls to be saved. I also have so much more growing to do in the Lord.

God is letting me be depleted and completely reliant on His mercy and strength. He is a mighty God and He pours His goodness out on me daily.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 ESV

I do not labor in vain and I am heavy with the burdens on my heart for the salvation of the people who do not have a walk with the Lord. But it is also true that His yoke is gentle and easy, His burden is light and gives me rest. Because the battle belongs to Him, the work belongs to Him, the prayers and obedience belong to Him – it is His responsibility.  I cannot fail, because He cannot fail.

I have a full time job and what do I do when someone needs Jesus while I am working? What to do about a hurting heart or a co-worker who Jesus wants to become real to?  What do I do when Jesus says pray right now and my boss says you have a deadline? This week was full! I had peace but I was spinning – yet God was in control and it all got done! (BTW – Obey Jesus first and everything else falls into place)  I think it is the speed at which everything is happening that is making me feel tired.

But today is the day the time is now!!!! I feel the urgency in the spirit. God wants a church who on fire hot – and not luke-warm. Not to mention the release of the next evil spirit is coming soon (maybe even before this posts).  Like fear washed over the world – there is another coming. That is all I know.  Are we ready? Are we ready? Are we ready?

And although God gave me this urgency and God gave me this burden – He says peace and rest when you are tired.

“He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.” Psalm 91:4 ESV
A mother bird tucks her babies up under her wing to love them and protect them.  Under her wing, they do not always know if it is just a hug, or if there is something dangerous she is protecting them from.  The same is true with our Father God.

At those moment when I am worn down and tired – That is when I look forward to doing my Bible study and praying. It refills, refreshes, strengthens and renews.  So if you are tired today – climb under His wing and rest in the Word of God and spend time with Him.  Yes, I know, it is one more thing to do. One more relationship to work on – except when you spend time in the presents of the Lord you allow Him to be glorified in your life.  You are filled with peace and have someplace to dump all your worries and problems with the assurance that He is working on them.

Even the things He has for us and the burdens He gives us are for Him to work on. Not us. We must be well rested to speak when He says to speak and be obedient when He says to do something.  Yes – that is a truth – He gives us a burden for people or for something and our job is to give it back to him in prayer and He accomplishes it through us.

Glory to God – His ways aren’t our ways!!! We cannot fail, because he is infallible.
Commit your works to the LORD, and your plans will be achieved.” Proverbs 16:3 BSB
As we see in Proverbs, work that is committed to God “will be achieved”. Not might be, not could be, there is no maybe here – it WILL BE achieved!

Lord, I give it all to you. I give it all to you. Refresh me Lord and guide my steps – I give it all to you. In Jesus name and for your glory ~amen

God takes care of His work. He takes care of your work, He takes care of everything big and small.  Cast them all at the feet of Jesus and look and see what He will do.
First shed your personal cares, worries, problems, burdens – let go of YOU first because He cares for you and He has a plan.

casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 NKJV

“Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.” Psalm 55:22 NIV

Then cast the bigger things down – Lord, we give you this global pandemic, we give you our government leaders, we give you the evil things coming against the Body of Christ. We give in to your will and give you our will – show us how to pray and how to vote and what to say and what to do – and we give the global problems to you as well – for your glory through your Son!

Give it all to God today. Give up and let Him handle it all. Remain obedient and restful in Him. Take time to enjoy your relationship with Him.
