Guarding the Mind (part 2)

“(The devil) He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44

Dear Heavenly Father – Thank you for the promises provided in your word and for encouragement directly from you. Please help everyone reading to guard their minds and hearts so you are glorified in us. Heal our minds, oh Lord, as we meditate on these verses. Open our eyes, wake us up, and please open our understanding. In the name of Jesus – Amen

It is again, a day to be encouraged by the scriptures. Our minds can often be a battle field so here are a few verses to assist and encourage you while you guard your mind. Today and yesterday, my mind was not the battlefield, my house was! So many distractions and chaos. These verses have been great encouragement for me in that arena as well.
Let me challenge you to try to memorize some of these – they shall be our battle cry when the mind becomes a battle field. The words of the Lord are not fallible and never return void. I can tell you with confidence that: The Lord says…..

The devil is a liar! A liar who came to steal, kill and destroy. Those are his functions. That is how we are to recognize if something is not of Christ and is of the devil.  Before we can recognize a lie, we must know the truth. We MUST fall in love with the scriptures and know them. We must know them in context, in application, in light and truth. Otherwise we will fall for the lies. Do not be deceived as the devil and his minions know the scriptures better than most of us. They take an element of truth and add to it lies!
Currently in the United States there are many truths being exposed in government and in the wealth population. Everything from human trafficking, pedophilia agendas, corrupt politicians, and many more.
Then I look at the news globally – and all over the whole earth, God is exposing the truth! Praise the Lord!
The Bible says in many places that what is done in private – God will expose. And He is. The lie that you will not get caught is a big one – you will get caught! The body of Christ has learned these verses and praying that God exposes truth!
Guard your mind against lies. Guard your mind against influences persuading you to lie – if you lie you have acted on behalf of satan and unrepented lying is an opportunity for satan to build a strong hold in your mind!
Dear Heavenly Father, protect us from Lies. Help us discern the truth.  And Lord help us to be honest trusting that you shall protect us. – in the name of Jesus we pray – amen

“I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:19-20 NIV
When was the last time you rejoiced that your name is written in heaven? Thank you Lord Jesus that through the work of the cross and your grace and mercy, my name is written in heaven! Hallelujah! It is all for your glory and praise! Thank you Lord! Amen
As we fight the battle for our minds and our daily spiritual battles – this verse proclaims our authority over the enemy. We have the authority given by Jesus Himself.
So when keeping guard we can cast down imaginations given to us and cast out wicked lying voices.
Imagine a body of Christ that understands this and moves in authority. What would the prayer requests on the church’s social media prayer page look like then? Right now it is over run with fear based prayers, and people who are praying for their own will, and requests for healings because they are worried and fearful. I love those people and pray for every last request, even if their answer is already written in the Bible they carry with them to church every Sunday.
OooOoOoo but Glory to God – when the children of the Kingdom of God finally read their Bible, finally spend real time in the presence of the King, when they finally anoint with oil, lay hands on people in prayer, cast out demons, heal the sick and raise the dead!!!  What then will be left for the prayer chain to whine to God about in half belief all week?
(Quick disclaimer – prayer works. Not everyone on the prayer chain is whining in unbelief. A great many are ineffective and that is my point. Not that all are ineffective, just that many are. Also, I recognize that there is a great awakening growing all over the world. But as of today – the majority of people who call themselves Christians in the United States and around the world are asleep.)
What good is authority if we are denying the power thereof?
“having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” 2 Timothy 3:5 NKJV
So Timothy would turn the early church away from the modern church! We must do better! It is in love that I say these things and they are the truth of the scripture. God loves you and has more for you. In the early church all the members of the body healed the sick and cast out demons – it is long past time for the children of God to reclaim their role.
The time is now, today is the day! In Romans 11:13 it says it is ‘high time to wake up!’ Winning the battle in our minds might first come by waking our minds up!
We must embrace our authority under the submission of understanding the real glory is that our names are written in Heaven, and the casting out and healing is all for more to have their names written next to ours in heaven!
This battle, the battle to be used by God in this way, is also won in the mind. A mind submitted and knowledgeable in the Lord can be used.  You can stand there crying to the Lord, “Here am I, send me” all day long – but you cannot be sent until you are ready. Be busy getting ready.

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
Nothing – not self-control, not controlling your mind, not being disciplined, not a thing – nothing will be impossible for you. I know, right? We do not usually apply this verse to self-discipline. We would rather struggle with our self and use this verse to encourage ourselves, that we can do some task we feel is not possible.
But I added this verse because of the faith element. Faith is a battle of the mind. Yes, faith comes by hearing the word (Romans 10:17).  Faith requires obedience as I did one of these studies completely on that. And faith is also a choice we make in our mind.
The strongest known force in the world (not of God) is a fixed mind. A mind that is guarded and set, unchangeable in its decision. If your mind is fixed, I could threated you with a gun to your head and you will not change your mind. It is untouchable.
There is an old children’s song that says: “God said it, I believe it, and that settles it for me.” Say it again and again (or sing it if you know the song). It’s empowering to fix you mind. Be steadfast in your faith. Let nothing, not even a gun to the head change your mind.
That my friends is a LOT more than just a mustard seed of faith! And it is won through a simple confession while determining it in your mind.

As we develop a closer relationship with Him, His words remind us that He is always near to us and already has a plan. He is ready to be part of our minds and part of the process to heal, protect and transform our minds – and give us peace.

If you don’t already, and today you would like to have a relationship with a God who can communicate with you and be part of your life (and protect you) – one who is full of mighty power and tender love, then please know that I have put the “A, B, C’s of Salvation” in my introduction.
