“Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:8-9 ESV
Dear Heavenly Father – Thank you for your mercy and grace. Thank you for always being here. Thank you for joy and discipline. Thank you for growth. In the name of Jesus – Amen
I took a couple days to rest and pray and haven’t posted. As I have said before I post these to publish in the future. This helps if I need a day or if something comes up. So, let me catch you up to what I have been going through.
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.” Philippians 4:4 ESV
A couple days ago, I woke up with inexplicable joy. I smiled all day. My cheeks hurt from smiling. A dear sister in the Lord was telling me something God was working on and I was so excited and full of Joy that God was working, and people are being obedient to His word – that I exclaimed “Yay!” It was not a “Yay!” moment. Always in love she helps keep me in line – especially with social responses. She corrected me. I am SO VERY THANKFUL SHE DID! I was so over joyed that I wasn’t being sensitive to my responses. Then…
In a work meeting, I received sad news that Covid-19 was potentially having an outbreak in my organization. I work in a health care organization with medically frail individuals and this news is potentially deadly and devastating. Thank God it was a video chat meeting!!! I checked my face and made my facial expression match my co-workers the best I could. But inside I was bubbling with JOY!!! Oh wait and see what my God is about to do! AMEN!!! As we have been studying on here – it is all about His glory and us having life! Life – not devastating numbers of death! Amen?
I haven’t been happy and a few years – I have been spending quality time with God and I am light and happy and it feels great!
“Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure.” Psalm 16:9 ESV
As I let go and let God I am seeing amazing things happening. So much I cannot fill you in on everything. I feel like a broken record all week – “God is Good!” “Now is the time, today is the day” “Life – the outpouring of Life” and “God is working”.
I shared the deliverance work I was doing with my Mother – the time is now. And she said she was doing it – when she finished she called me. I asked God to show me if she really did it – she hasn’t been the most reliable reporter in my life, I hope he understands my doubt in her. And the next morning I woke up with the Joy of the Lord. It must have worked.
“Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.” Psalm 119:111 ESV
And by grace this comes back to testifying – Tell of the good things the Lord has done!!!! In faith tell of the good things He is doing!
When we submit in obedience to the work of the cross, to the redemption of who we are made to be, to God Himself through Christ Jesus – it is all joy!
Remember our discussion on trials – in James chapter one when it says “count it all joy” when you go through trials. And when I discussed it, I honestly struggled to find any joy but I spoke the verse into my life none the less. It is written…. Therefore it is. And through faith and grace – God has poured the joy into me. And when I was tired as the battles rose up on every side and it all hit rapid fire around me – I found peace and strength and was able to persevere with joy.
“Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 ESV
“THE JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH!”
There is a very serious spiritual battle raging, and as the clock ticks forward and time moves towards the next fulfilled prophecy of the Bible this battle intensifies. I find myself in the battlefield smiling like a fool. Because I know something the demons seem to have forgotten: My name is written in the Lambs Book of Life, and I have authority through Christ over them, and I through grace have faith to move mountains, and the battle is the Lord’s therefore I cannot fail, and IT IS FINISHED.
ALL GLORY TO GOD!!!! Glory to God!!!! See how the Joy burst up life a spring of living waters!!! See How we can rejoice and again rejoice so full of joy!!!!
Heavenly Father, please pour out your joy!!! There is strength and power in Joy to accomplish your will! Joy brings glory to you Lord! Joy gives us live abundantly!!! We shall live and bless other with our overflow as you saturate us in joy, please Lord. Such a wonderful thing!!! Please share it with those you have reading this. Empower them please with joy! In the name of Jesus and for your glory! Amen!
Joy is a feeling – yes. No doubt about it. But it is also a command as we have seen in the many verses referenced here. If you do not believe me, pull up any concordance and search the words: “joy” and “rejoice”. You shall see, over and over, in every verse – we are told to be full of joy and we are told to rejoice! It is a choice. We must choose it – and the feelings follows. Much like we must choose to love as God has told us and then the feelings follow.
I have met the one true and living God. I have met the mighty God who cares about my daily life as well as caring for all things. I have seen my God’s hand move in my life and in the world. It is amazing that this all powerful creator wants to have relationships with us! Does this NOT bring joy? Do we not understand the enormity of it? Do we really know who Our Father is?!
Grace – His grace is sufficient! His Grace is joy! Hallelujah!
If you don’t already, and today you would like to have a relationship with a God who can communicate with you and be part of your life (and protect you) – one who is full of mighty power and tender love, then please know that I have put the “A, B, C’s of Salvation” in my introduction.
