Love and Covenant (part 1)

“37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39 NIV

Lord God, today, please reveal your deep love for us. You love us so much more than we can understand but reveal to us as much as we can understand. Please open our ear to hear what you are saying, open our eyes to see your love, and open our understanding. In the name of Jesus – Amen

God loves us. He truly love each of us, specifically. Jew or Gentile, red or yellow, black or white, sinner or righteous – God doesn’t care what we are, He cares about who He made us to be and loves us even if we don’t have it all together yet.  God loves us.

In the verse above we see that because of His great love for us we are MORE than conquerors. Because He loves us, nothing can separate us!  Many times our sin, our shame, our sickness, or the lies of the devil, convince us there is a separation. No! It’s a lie – press into God. Nothing can separate us.

“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” Isaiah 54:10 NIV

You read that and say, but that is specific for Israel, His bride; that is about something else.  I say no:
Let us look at the principles it reveals.  Jesus’s death is a blood covenant with us (anyone who believes and follows Jesus).  Granted our covenant with Him is not of peace in our land or world. We have been promised the peace that conquers fear through love, power and a sound mind. Our covenant is for eternal life and the opportunity to have an intimate relationship with God through the blood covenant.  So read it again with the knowledge of our covenant – though the mountains be shaken – Oh look at the state of the world! It is all shook up and more shaking is happening. Yet. YET – yes he says yet! So there is more, so do not focus on the shaking, focus on the more!!! “Yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken”!  He is unfailing. He will not be moved. Although everything is shaking – He, our Almighty Daddy, is still. We can run, spiritually speaking, into His arms and rest, enjoy the stillness and peace – He does not fail, He does not shake and His covenant cannot be removed.

And as if all of that glorious grace right there is not enough of an amazing show of His love – it also says “the lord, who has compassion on you”!  Bless you Father God!!! And thank you Jesus for the covenant sacrifice!

The use of the word compassion has declined greatly over the years. Which is sad. So to make sure I understood what it means, I looked it up in Merriam Webster Dictionary:
It is a noun – which means “sympathetic consciousness of others’ distress together with a desire to alleviate it”. An awareness – a knowledge of it with deep understanding.  This together with a desire to alleviate it.

Pause – we need to think about that. Alleviate our distress. I looked up alleviate in the dictionary as well, since I have it open and it says “to make (something, such as pain and suffering) more bearable. Hallelujah!

“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” 1 Peter 5:10 ESV

Oh that alleviation – ‘the God of ALL GRACE’!!! with the promise of restoration, confirmations, strengthening, and He will establish me (and you)!!! Glory to God!

The Bible warned us – we will have troubles, we will be persecuted, we will suffer – however, NEVER forget, we have a blood covenant with God the Father through Jesus Christ saying he knows and will do what is possible to be done to alleviate it – His grace is sufficient!

As I am confronted with such great love – I am transformed. I want to return love as strong to God. I am here in the Word of God to know Him and to learn to love Him in return.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 NIV

While I was in sin, while I was disregarding His Grace and love and His call to me, while I was practicing evil – the Lord God loved me and had already made a covenant with me. Forgive me if I personalize this, yes, it is for you as well – but I am having a moment with my Daddy! My Father God is revealing more love to me! Ya see, I didn’t like me then – no one liked me then – I was a terrible person… but GOD LOVED ME. He took me as I was and changed me into something beautiful.

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2 ESV

God and I have been taking about sacrifice lately. This is in my personal reading and studying, not the ones for this blog. And it is spilling over into here now. Because Jesus loved us so much He died for us. As I type a man has messaged and is being used by satan to try to distract me. That man may want to date me, but he would not die for me. He would not have a covenant with me.  He would not even try to respect me. He could not fix my problems or even alleviate them. He would not care for me and provide for me. But, my Lord DID die for me and He does have a covenant with me and He actually LOVES me – not the broken halfhearted fake stuff satan tries to sell the world as love!!! GOD LOVES ME AND MADE THE SACRIFIES FOR ME!
Now, it is my turn to do the same. It is my turn to sacrifice and give up things for Him, and my turn to surrender to His love.

Focus on God – be inside His love. Know the Father! I cannot say this enough.  As the days we live in get more evil, our peace, safety, everlasting hope is in God. Look to Heaven, this Earth is not our goal.

“now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:7-8

Here in the book of Luke we see that although Jesus is acknowledging our concerns – He refocuses our attention. He says, Yeah – I have the injustice under control, I have your concerns in my hand, and it is your job to have your own faith built up. What better way, than by keeping your eyes on God.
The signs of the time says that Jesus is coming soon. So this verse is very specific to our day and age. He acknowledges our concerns but is more concerned that we don’t focused on the problems, but instead focused on the problem solver; and that we aren’t focused on the needs, but instead focused on the provider.

Why should we focus on Him???  Because of His great overwhelming love for us.
We can have a personal and real relationship with Him. We can talk to Him, walk with Him and love Him back. He will take care of all these other things.
